To create and specify a skin file
1Useatexteditortocreateaskinfilethatincludestheparameterstocustomize.
Useonelineforeachparameterandusethefollowingform:

thevirtualmachinedirectoryfortheACE‐enabledvirtualmachin

Thefilenamemustbeskin.txt.
3 (Optional)TodisplayapplicationiconsotherthantheVMwarePlayericon,place
thenew.icoiconfilesintheACE Resourcesdirectory.

4InWorkstation,closetheACE‐en
abledvirt
ualmachine.
5UseatexteditortoopentheaceMaster.datfileinthevirtualmachinedirectory
andaddthefollowingline:
vmplayer.skin = "skin.txt"
BecausetheskinfileisintheACE Resourcesdirectory,youdonotneedtospecify
thedirectorypathtothefile.
6 SaveandclosetheaceMaster.datfile.
7 (Optional)Todeterminewhethertheparametersaresetcorrectly,previewthe
virtualmachineinVMwarePlayer.

Customizing the VMware Player Icons
VMwarePlayerhasseparatelargeandsmallapplicationicons.Thelargeiconisused
intheapplicationswitchinginterface(visiblewhenyoupressAlt+Tab).Thesizeofthe
largeiconisusually32x32pixels,butVMwarePlayeruseswhateversizeisspecifiedfor
iconsizeinthesystempreference.Thesmall(16x16pixels)ic
onisusedintheVMware
PlayertitlebarandontheWindowstaskbarbuttonforVMwarePlayer.
