YoucanconnectanexistingvirtualCD‐ROM,DVDtoanISOimagefileorfloppydrive
toafloppyimage(.flpor.img)fileratherthanthephysicaldriveonthehost.For
example,anISOimagefileresemblesaCD‐ROMtoyourguestoperatingsystemand
appearsasaCD‐ROMinWi
ndowsExplorer.
Insomehostconfigurations,thevirtualmachinecannotbootfromtheinstallation
CD‐ROM.Toavoidthatproblem,createanISOimagefilefromtheinstallation
CD‐ROM.
To connect a CD-ROM, DVD, or floppy drive to an image file
1 Selectthevirtualmachine.
2 ChooseVM>Settings.
3OntheHardwaretab,selectaDVD,CD‐ROM,orflo
ppydrive.
4Dooneofthefollowing:
ForaDVDorCD‐ROMdrive,selectUseISOImageandspecifythepath
nameandfilename.
Forafloppydrive:
Ifthefilealreadyexists,selectUsefloppyImageandspecifythepath
nameandfilename.
Tocreateanimagefile,clickCreate,browsetothedirectorywhereyou
plantostorethefloppyimagefile,supplyafilename,andclickSave(on
Windowshosts)orOpen(onLinuxhosts).
5 (Optional)Tomakethefilereadonly,selecttheReadOnlycheckbox.
