• The ZenUp RPM file.
• The "pristine" file for Resource Manager 4.2.5.
• The most recent RPS (.zup) file.
Contact your Zenoss representative for login credentials.
2. Log in to the Resource Manager master host as root, or as a user with superuser privileges.
3. Install ZenUp.
yum --nogpgcheck localinstall zenup-version.el5.x86_64.rpm
4. Log in as user zenoss.
5. Rename the $ZENHOME/bin/zenquilt_update.sh file, if present.
test -f $ZENHOME/bin/zenquilt_update.sh && \
mv $ZENHOME/bin/zenquilt_update.sh $ZENHOME/bin/zenquilt_update.sh.old
6. Register Resource Manager 4.2.5 with ZenUp by specifying the "pristine" file.
zenup init zenoss_resmgr-4.2.5-XXXX.elX-pristine.tgz $ZENHOME
The zenup command displays messages as it works. If you encounter an error, contact Zenoss Support.
7. Verify the registration.
zenup status
ZenUp displays information similar to the following example.
Product: zenoss-resmgr-4.2.5 (id = zenoss-resmgr-4.2.5)
Home: /opt/zenoss
Revision: 0
Updated On: timestamp
7.7. Migrating data
Follow these steps to migrate 4.1.1 data to 4.2.5.
1. Log in to the Resource Manager master host as root, or as a user with superuser privileges.
2. Configure Resource Manager to start when the host starts, and start the migration process.
chkconfig --level 2345 zenoss on
service zenoss start
The process takes at least 20 minutes, and displays many messages.
Note
If you are monitoring $ZENHOME/log/zenhub.log during the migration process, and you have not previously
installed the second-generation Windows monitoring ZenPacks, you may see traceback errors in that log. The
cause of those errors is corrected by following the procedure in the next section.
