Expanding the storage capacity
The Vblock 240 base configuration has a 25 drive DPE, 8 drive vault, 2 drive FAST Cache, and one T1
hot spare. The storage capacity is expanded from the minimum configuration to the maximum
configuration, incrementally, by adding:
•
Two additional 25 drive DAEs for EFD or SAS drives (can be added individually)
•
Two 15 drive DAEs for NL-SAS drives (can be added individually)
•
RAID packs
Expanding the storage protocol
The Vblock 240 base configuration is block only. Storage protocols can be expanded to support unified
storage by adding a maximum of two X-Blades for unified storage and two control stations for
management.

System 240 power options
The Vblock System 240 supports different Power Outlet Unit (POU) options. There are four POUs per
cabinet and they are energized in pairs as needed.
The following table lists the available power options:
